We are the leaders of the Mifos X platform – designing and publishing the architecture that covers the common financial inclusion needs of the sector and enabling the community to extend it beyond.
About the Mifos Initiative:
We are a partner and community-driven initiative that is positioning financial institutions to become modern and digitally connected providers of financial services to the poor. Through our 4-pronged approach we are able to successfully set the members of the Mifos Community up for success.
Our Chapter’s Mission:
As a member of the Mifos Community, our Nairobi Mifos Chapter is here to help you better connect to the members of the Mifos Community around you (specifically in the Nairobi, Kenya region). We plan on acting as an innovation hub for members of the Mifos Community to come and collaborate by exchanging solutions and ideas. We already have a strong Mifos community in place. Imagine how powerful that community could be if we brought them all together!
As our Executive Director, Craig Chelius, always puts it:
“We are the innovation that powers innovators. Without us, there would be no base to the Financial Inclusion pyramid”
While we ourselves don’t have the manpower to support the 3+ million clients that Mifos supports, we do have a large community that helps us run the Initiative. In order for this Mifos community to continue blossoming, we need your help! If you have an interest in Mifos and are in the Nairobi region, please register to join the chapter! This page will act as the communication channel between members of the Mifos chapter.
Our Chapter Charter:
In order to be classified as an official Mifos chapter, an organization must first be vetted and trained by the heads of the Mifos Initiative. To show that we are a certified Mifos chapter, see our Chapter Charter below:

Our Chapter’s Goals:
As part of the Mifos Chapter training curriculum, we, as the leaders of our chapter, are required to set goals for what we are looking to achieve through this commitment. These are words we live by and goals we work towards every day. Please help us work toward achieving these goals and toward creating a brighter future for the unbanked.
